Some of these are not so well known include Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the United States, Castelbruxo in Brazil, Uagadou School of Magic in Uganda and Mahoutokoro located on a volcanic island in Japan. In total, there are 11 prestigious wizarding/ magical schools around the world, with a few on every major continent. While many people may not believe this, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, and Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning are not the only magical school in the world of Harry Potter.
